During the festivities, Melania Trump read Marilyn Sadler's book "Bunny with a Big Heart" to children and visited various activity stations. She was photographed interacting with young attendees at coloring stations and other activities while dressed in a neutral trench coat and green pointed-toe shoes. The First Lady had previously confirmed her attendance at the event through a social media post on Good Friday, expressing gratitude to East Wing staff for their preparation efforts.

President Trump addressed the gathering by highlighting the significance of Easter, stating it was "one of our favorite days" and emphasizing that "we're honoring Jesus Christ." The South Lawn featured numerous activities for children including military card writing stations, hopscotch areas, reading nooks, flower arranging, and egg decorating. Live music was provided by various military bands including the United States Marine Band, Army Band, and others.
