A shooting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta resulted in the death of a police officer on Friday. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the shooter as Patrick Joseph White, 30, from Kennesaw, Georgia. Officer David Rose of the DeKalb County Police Department was fatally wounded while responding to the incident, which left bullet holes in multiple CDC buildings but no additional injuries.
