Judge rules environmental justice grant disputes must go to Court of Federal Claims
1.
A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging the Environmental Protection Agency's termination of environmental justice block grants, ruling that such disputes must be heard by the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Judge Richard Leon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia cited the Tucker Act, which governs contract disputes with the federal government, in his Friday decision. The grants in question were part of the Inflation Reduction Act passed during the Biden administration and were terminated earlier this year by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.
