A recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) incident in Yamhill County, Oregon has drawn attention after a 17-year-old US citizen was temporarily detained. According to Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, the detention occurred after US Border Patrol agents were allegedly followed and obstructed by two vehicles. The teen and 20-year-old Isaias Eduardo Soto Elias were both identified as US citizens who were arrested for reportedly impeding federal law enforcement officers.
