Congressional Republicans have introduced several bills supporting President Trump's federal law enforcement surge in Washington DC, including legislation that would extend the operation from 30 days to six months. Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona has proposed amending the DC Home Rule Act to allow presidential control over DC police for 180 days. Other Republican lawmakers, including Representatives Andy Harris, Anna Paulina Luna, and Andy Ogles, have introduced or cosponsored similar legislation.
