The FBI has requested local law enforcement agencies to submit names of individuals connected to drug cartels and gangs for potential inclusion in the U.S. government's terrorist watch list, according to documents obtained through a public records request. This initiative follows President Trump's February 2025 designation of several criminal organizations, including MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and the Sinaloa cartel, as foreign terrorist organizations. The FBI's May 9 email to law enforcement agencies specifically asked for information about members of these groups and their associates.
