US Export Controls Force NVIDIA to Cancel RTX 5090D GPU in China

Tightened US restrictions on high-performance chips affect Chinese market

1.

The US government has implemented stricter export controls that are forcing NVIDIA to cancel its GeForce RTX 5090D graphics card in China. According to reports, the China-exclusive GPU variant will be completely banned in the second quarter of 2025 as new US export rules restrict NVIDIA from supplying the GPU with its current specifications. The restrictions specifically target GPUs with memory bandwidth of 1400 GB/s or higher and I/O bandwidth equal to or greater than 1100 GB/s, with a combined limit of 1700 GB/s.
