Canadian Court Rejects Appeal to Save Ostriches Despite RFK Jr.'s Support

Canada's Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal regarding the culling of approximately 330 ostriches at a British Columbia farm, despite intervention from US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) ordered the birds to be euthanized after detecting highly pathogenic avian influenza at the farm in December 2024. Following the court's dismissal, the CFIA confirmed it would proceed with the culling under its policy for disease outbreak management.
