Denmark has announced a financial commitment of 1.6 billion Danish crowns ($253 million) for healthcare and infrastructure development in Greenland from 2026 to 2029. The funding package will supplement Greenland's annual block grant of approximately 4.3 billion crowns and includes financing for a new landing strip in eastern Greenland and a deep-water port in the southern region. Additionally, Denmark will assume financial responsibility for Greenlandic patients requiring treatment in Danish hospitals.
