The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is exploring the possibility of implementing 24-hour trading, according to CEO Leila Fourie in a recent Bloomberg interview. Fourie indicated this would be a medium to long-term consideration requiring significant market input rather than an immediate change. The JSE has seen substantial growth, recently hitting a record 100,000 points in its ALL-SHARE index, with markets up approximately 18% year-to-date compared to the MSCI Emerging Market Index at 15%.
