CPB to Shut Down After Federal Funding Cuts

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced it will begin winding down operations following the elimination of its federal funding. The organization, which provides financial support to public media outlets including PBS and NPR, made the announcement on August 1, 2025. According to CPB, most staff positions will conclude when the fiscal year ends on September 30, 2025, with a small transition team remaining until January 2026.
