An 18-year-old high school senior in Los Angeles was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on August 8, 2025. Benjamin Marcelo Guerrero Cruz, a Chilean national, was reportedly apprehended while walking his dog in Van Nuys. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Guerrero Cruz had overstayed his visa by more than two years after entering the country through a visa waiver program that expired in March 2023.
