Congress Approves Bill to Restrict Hemp-Derived THC Products

Congress has approved legislation that would significantly restrict hemp-derived THC products, with implementation scheduled for November 2026. The provision, included in the government shutdown-averting spending package, was introduced by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. This measure would effectively ban products containing more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container, impacting the industry that developed after hemp was federally legalized in the 2018 Farm Bill.
